Although the crowd is ecstatic as the veteran German adds more vital points to the European cause, the scoreboard behind them shows Europe are by no means certain of overall victory at this stage. In an incredibly tense final day, Europe went on to win the Ryder Cup in fine style.
Langer produced a towering performance during Sunday's singles match with an incredible display of approach play, showing exactly why he is one of the best iron players in the world. In his tenth Ryder Cup singles match, Langer had both out-thought and out-played opponent Sutton in every aspect of their match. The American had no response to Langer's accuracy and precision around the green. Our print shows Bernhard overjoyed by his achievement, flanked by the wonderful supporters who ensured the 2002 Ryder Cup was both a fantastic spectacle and a great showcase for the game.
